Vessel Safety Check

A Vessel Safety Check is a courtesy examination of your boat (Vessel) to verify the presence and condition of certain Safety Equipment required by State and Federal regulations. The Vessel Examiner is a trained specialist who is a member of the United States Power Squadrons or the US Coast Guard Auxiliary. They will make certain recommendations and discuss certain safety issues that will make you a safer boater. If you pass the Vessel Safety Check you get a VSC sticker to proudly display on your boat. If for some reason your boat does not pass the Vessel Safety Check all you need to do is correct the problem and a VSC sticker will then be issued. Failure to pass a Vessel Safety Check is just that. Nothing is reported to any agency or government authority.
